Dan Weiss

Mr. Weiss currently has a qualified manager's license required to operate a security business in the State of Texas. Mr. Weiss has held this status since 1997. Mr. Weiss has worked in the security business since 1993. Mr. Weiss began his career in the security business in Boston, Massachusetts while in graduate school at Northeastern University. Mr. Weiss interned at Walpole State Prison, the Maximum Security Prison for the Massachusetts area. Mr. Weiss went on to work for Alarmex and then for Wells Fargo Alarm Services in Boston and Phoenix, becoming the youngest General Manger in the history of the company. Mr. Weiss went on to Chubb Security, working as a Sales Manager and General Manager. In 1997, Mr. Weiss started EPS Security and Life Safety Systems, Inc. Within 5 years, EPS became one of the largest integrators in Houston. In 2001 Mr. Weiss sold EPS to Sonitrol, a Tyco International Company. Mr. Weiss worked for Sonitrol as a Regional Vice President prior to starting General Cabling and Security in 2002.

Mr. Weiss has consulted on hundreds of electronic security projects around the country. His consulting and design experience ranges from large petroleum-chemical plants, UL-listed diamond vaults, office complexes, chain retailers, large entertainment complexes, executive homes, and churches and temples. Customers include Burlington Resources, Dow Chemical, Chevron, Exxon, Six Flags Astroworld, Reliant Energy, Temple Beth Israel, Seitel Solutions, Spaw Maxwell, Jacobs Engineering, Houston Police Department, Zadok Jewelry, and many others.

Mr. Weiss has also developed a sub-specialty in the area of covert video installation and design. Experiences range from being an invited exhibitor at the NATIA conference, working with Houston Police Department's Hostage Negotiation Team, and construction of mobile surveillance vehicles.

Mr. Weiss graduated from University of Texas at Austin in 1991, with a double major in Liberal Arts. Mr. Weiss was involved in graduate level studies in Psychology at Northeastern University for a period of two years focused in Criminal Psychology. Mr. Weiss lives in Houston with his wife, Michelle, and their five children.
